Mikaela Friberg:”Pulsatilla is one of my favorite flowers. I think it’s because of the furry backside of the flower that gives it softness. The most common color is blue / purple, and this yellow plant is more rare. Fortunately, I live near a botanical garden where these grow. The two flowers are facing each other nicely, almost like a child turning to the parent for support and guidance in life. I liked the expression and wanted to capture the moment.”
Mikaela is an award-winning nature photographer with roots in Småland. Now she lives in Billdal, surrounded by nature, just outside Gothenburg. Mikaela got her first system camera as a graduation present. Yet only until recently did her interest in photography peak and become a hobby that occupies a large part of her spare time. She is fascinated by the macro lens’ ability to show what is barely visible to the naked eye. Mikaela focuses primarily on flowers and plants and her images often have a soft and dreamy feeling where color and composition interact in harmony. She magnifies the ”little world” with her camera and hunts for images that will captivate the viewer. In addition to being able to express her creative edge, it gives her energy and ”food for the soul” to enjoy our beautiful and fragile natural world which we need to preserve.
