Paul Kolk: “On a late afternoon in Gästrikland, these cranes emerged just three meters from my hiding place. I could barely breathe or photograph, sat quietly and just enjoyed watching these beautiful birds so close. Then the cranes lifted and landed at a distance where came together in dance and mated. The last sunlight struck them for just a few seconds. Not only did I get a wonderful picture, but also a very unique experience.”
Paul was born in Gothenburg and then moved from the beautiful west coast to Hofors in Gästrikland. He likes all kinds of photography between macro and starry skies, but thrives best in the wilderness where photography has become his lifestyle. He spends the most time in Sweden’s forests, on the marshes and sometimes on by the coast and up the mountain range, but also travels to other parts of the world where his favorite expeditions have been to Alaska and Canada.
