Paul Kolk: “When I was on a photo-expedition to the beautiful Katmai Coast in Alaska, I had the priviledge to experience grizzly bears chasing down salmon. As long as you sit still and don’t intrude in their hunting area you will be safe. Regardless, you feel a ”sense of respect” when these bears come charging through the water with extended claws just a few yards away.”
Paul was born in Gothenburg and then moved from the beautiful west coast to Hofors in Gästrikland. He likes all kinds of photography between macro and starry skies, but thrives best in the wilderness where photography has become his lifestyle. He spends the most time in Sweden’s forests, on the marshes and sometimes on by the coast and up the mountain range, but also travels to other parts of the world where his favorite expeditions have been to Alaska and Canada.
